‘Sam and I met through CrossFit at a weightlifting competition. In a beautiful parallel to our first date, he proposed to me up on the hill at Godley Head.
‘When it was time to look for a dress, I only went to one store – Paperswan Bride, and I knew what look I wanted. Izzy was incredible to work with and we had a plan. I had the top created with a vision I had in mind and it worked almost perfectly.
‘We had originally booked another venue, however we had to change it after some Covid issues. We hadn’t viewed Waipuna the first time around but we’re so glad our first venue didn’t work out because Waipuna was perfect.
‘Our ceremony was incredible. We wrote our own vows and they had us in stitches. Afterwards we had our photos with the bridal parties at the venue and then some stunning ones after a short helicopter ride to Mount Herbert.
‘The reception was full of happy tears and belly laughs. We have so many beautiful people in our lives that it was just amazing to have everyone in the same room getting to know each other.
‘The best part of the day for me was definitely seeing Sam in tears as I walked down the aisle; it just all became so beautifully real. I always joked that if he didn’t shed a tear I’d do a loop and give him another shot! But that wasn’t needed.’
